Wheels or Caster Wheel Is Blocked
Hair often wraps around the wheels or the small caster wheel at the front. Turn the robot over and thoroughly clean all moving parts. On many models, the caster wheel can be pulled out. Make sure it can spin freely again afterward.
Thresholds or Carpet Edges Are Too High
Some robots can’t handle high transitions. Check your model’s maximum obstacle height, which should be listed in the manual. If needed, use low ramps or block off the area with no-go zones.
Loose Cables or Carpet Fringe
These are real “robot traps.” Secure loose cables with clips or under baseboards, and remove rugs with long fringe from the cleaning area.
Small Objects on the Floor
Toys, socks, or shoes often cause blockages. A quick walk-through before starting the robot can save you trouble later.
Sensors Are Dirty
Dust on the cliff sensors or bumper sensors can confuse the robot. Carefully clean all sensors with a lint-free cloth, especially on the underside and front.
Battery Is Low
If the battery is getting weaker, the robot may struggle more with obstacles. Reduce the cleaning area or schedule charging breaks.
Front Bumper Is Stuck
The front bumper needs to move freely. Press it in several times. If it sticks, remove any dirt or hair from the mechanism.
Navigation System Error
A software error can also affect the robot’s behavior. Restart the robot, delete the saved maps if necessary, and run a new mapping cycle. Also check whether the firmware is up to date.
