Robot Vacuum Won’t Charge

Robot Vacuum Won’t Charge

Causes

1

Check whether the power adapter is plugged in properly and whether the outlet is working. Test the outlet with another device to make sure.

2

This is the most common cause. Thoroughly clean the metal contacts on the robot and charging dock with a lint-free cloth and a little isopropyl alcohol. Make sure everything is dry before placing the robot back on the dock.

3

The robot must dock precisely. Position it manually until you hear a quiet “click” or the charging LED lights up.

4

The dock should be in an open, easily accessible location, with at least 50 cm of free space on both sides and 1 m in front. Avoid corners, tight spaces, or areas under furniture.

5

Check the cable and plug for damage or kinks. Defective standard power cables are usually easy to replace. Make sure the voltage and amperage match the specifications on the rating label.

Even unplugged power adapters can still carry voltage, because the capacitors inside may remain charged. Never open power adapters yourself, and dispose of defective devices properly.

6

If the robot hasn’t been used for a long time, it may take a while for charging to start. Leave it on the dock for 3–4 hours, even if no indicator is visible.

7

Batteries last about 2–3 years or 300–500 charge cycles. If the battery still won’t charge after trying all the steps above, replace it. A high-quality replacement battery from a trusted manufacturer, such as iFixit or the original manufacturer, is often a better choice than a cheap no-name battery.
