Apple wanted $750 for repair. After internet research and agonizing a lot over the situation I discovered ifixit.com. In short time I learned the way to open the back of the unit, clean the corrosion and identify the faulty part . . .

My Problem

My original battery had problems with about 500 cycles and it was lasting only 20 minutes (sometimes less).

Good. It's a very easy part to replace. The only problem I had was that, after changing the battery, my trackpad is a liiittle bit loose. When I click it, it makes a sound like it's a little lo . . .

the internal battery was done and needed to be replace - costes here were extremly high

was very easy! took a while to find the correct screwdriver - BUY THE OFFERED SCHREWDRIVER!- opened the metal case, the old battery pulled out very easyliy as instructed in the video and shut it back closed - 2 d . . .

So I bought my fiancée a MacBook Air for Christmas 2014. In February while playing with our puppy, she threw a toy and it knocked a glass of tea over onto her computer. It was open, but turned off. She was devastated.

Battery failing in mid 2012 MacBook Air

My Fix

Very easy repair. Lots of screws but the repair guide is easy to follow. I decided to use this 2013 battery in my mid-2012 MacBook Air so I'd get a bit more time out of the battery. Seems to work just fine and fits like the original. Was a real Apple part so yo . . .

My Problem

An entire cup of coffee got spilled on my MacBook Air.

My Fix

I actually took apart the entire interior except the keyboard & trackpad, but in the end, only the battery needed replacing. I rinsed all the logic board & SSD card in isopropyl alcohol and spot cleaned the rest of the coffee spots. After 48 hrs . . .

My Problem

As a musician doing outdoor gigs in Florida, my macbook air gets exposed to a lot of use above the recommended ambient temperature. Battery went stone cold dead.
