Roborock Q5 Max Plus Suction Is Weak

If your Roborock Q5 Max plus is running, but its suction power is significantly weaker than expected, the following solutions may help.

Causes

1

Dust and debris accumulation in the dustbin and filter can restrict airflow, reducing suction power. To resolve this:

  • Remove the dustbin and empty it completely.
  • Check the filter and clean it by tapping it gently to remove loose dirt.
  • If the filter is washable, rinse it with water and let it dry completely before reinserting.
  • If the filter is heavily soiled or damaged, replace it with a new one.
2

Hair, fibers, and debris wrapped around the brushes can obstruct airflow. To clean them:

  • Turn the vacuum upside down and inspect both the main and side brushes.
  • Use a cleaning tool or scissors to carefully remove any entangled debris.
  • If the brushes appear worn or damaged, replace them with new ones.
3

The vacuum's suction power may be reduced due to incorrect settings. To adjust:

  • Open the Roborock app on your mobile device.
  • Navigate to the suction settings and set the vacuum to a higher mode, such as "Turbo" or "Max."
4

Improperly installed components can cause air leaks, reducing suction efficiency. To check:

  • Remove the dustbin and filter.
  • Reinsert them securely, ensuring they fit snugly in their respective compartments.
5

Dirty sensors can affect navigation and suction optimization. To clean them:

  • Use a dry microfiber cloth or a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Gently clean the sensors, especially those near the dustbin and suction intake.
6

If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, the vacuum's motor or internal components may be failing. To diagnose:
