If your Roborock Q5 Max Plus is running but the main brush isn’t spinning as it should and as a result, the vacuum struggles to pick up dirt and debris, the following solutions may help.

Causes

1

Hair, string, and other debris can often wrap around the brushes, making it harder to spin or stop spinning completely. To clean it:

  • Flip the vacuum upside down and remove the main brush cover.
  • Remove the main brush and use a cleaning tool to remove any dust and debris on the brush.
  • Remove end caps and remove anything tangled around the brush axil on both sides.
  • Clean the inside of the brush housing as well.
  • Reinsert the brush securely and ensure it clicks into place.
  • Reinsert the brush cover, making sure the pins go into the top slots and the cover clicks into place.

For the side brush

  • Hold the brush down and remove the screw holding it down.
  • Clean the brush and remove anything that might be tangled.
  • Screw the brush back in.
2

If the brush is not properly seated, it may not spin as expected. To check:

  • Remove the main brush and inspect the brush compartment for obstructions.
  • Reinsert the brush, ensuring it is properly aligned and locked in place.
3
  • Hold the power button for 3-5 seconds to turn off the vacuum. Turn it back on and manually direct it to the dock using the app.
4

Dust buildup or damage to the brush motor can prevent movement. To troubleshoot:

  •  Turn the brush manually to check for resistance.
  • Use compressed air to clean dust from the brush motor area.
  • If the brush still does not spin, contact Roborock support for further assistance.
