Roborock Q5 Max Plus Does Not Dock Properly

If your Roborock Q5 Max+ fails to return to or connect properly with its dock, preventing recharging or self-emptying functions, the following solutions may correct the problem.

Causes

1

The dock must be placed against a wall with at least 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) of clearance on each side and 1.5 meters (4.6 feet) in front. improper placement can prevent the robot from aligning or approaching the dock correctly.

2

Furniture, cords, or clutter near the dock can interfere with the robot's navigation, causing it to miss the charging contacts.

3

Dirt, debris, or protective plastic on the charging contacts (on either the robot or the dock) may prevent a proper connection. Clean both sets of contacts with a dry cloth.

4

If the included ramp is not installed, the robot's charging contacts may not align correctly with the dock, leading to docking failures. Follow the instructions in the Roborock Max+ User Manual to install the ramp.

5

Occasional software hiccups may prevent proper docking. Restarting the robot can resolve minor issues. Hold the power button for 3-5 seconds to turn off the robot, then turn it back on. You can also manually send it back to the dock using the Roborock app.

Internal Software issue

If the robot continues to have trouble docking after checking all other causes, a factory reset may help. Hold the power and home buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds until the robot beeps. Reconfigure the device in the Roborock app afterward.
