Adhesive Strips for Every Repair

  • This complete set of replacement adhesive strips are specifically cut to fit 21.5" iMacs from Late 2012 through Mid 2017.
  • The individual adhesive strips are labeled to indicate their correct location as shown in the replacement guides.
  • The kit includes one iMac Opening Tool.
  • Because of continuing improvements, actual product may differ slightly from photo.

The unique design of the 21.5" iMac requires the replacement of the adhesive strips whenever the display assembly is removed. Fortunately, these adhesive strips are actually a foam tape, easily cut with an iMac Opening Wheel. Unfortunately, the display has to be removed every time anything needs to be replaced or upgraded inside the machine.

My Fix

Replaced the stock (x2) 4GB SO-DIMMS with (x2) 8GB, and 1TB spinning disc with a 512GB Crucial SSD. Offloaded bulk of iTunes library (400+GB by itself) to my NAS.

My Problem

My Late 2012 21.5" iMac had been performing like a dog lately - the 5400rpm laptop hard drive in there is terribly slow. We didn't get the Fusion Drive model. I had upgraded Macbook Pro's to SSD's before, so I figured why not upgrade the iMac.

My Fix

The repair was actually easier than first expected. It . . .

My Fix

Repair was easier than expected. Tool included with Adhesive strips made the job super easy!

My Advice

Be careful when placing the screen/monitor back in place. The adhesive strips aren't very forgiving. When I put the monitor back in place according to the instructions it still left a smal . . .
