Education and Service
Repair is a skill best learned by doing. We’ve partnered with more than 100 colleges and universities to train the next generation of technical writers and fixers. In 2025 we launched the iFixit Foundation to expand that impact to schools, governments, and public institutions worldwide, making repair knowledge part of public infrastructure.

Our editorial content is not for sale. This includes teardowns, repairability scores, videos, and editorial blog posts.
We love it when manufacturers ask us for repairability advice at the design stage instead of waiting for us to call out their mistakes after something has gone to market. But we’re clear with them and want to be clear with you: Manufacturers cannot buy a better repairability score.
They don’t get points on our scorecard for having worked with us (but they do get points for having guides and parts available, which we can help with). We’ll never promise to write glowing blog posts about their products, nor will we ever hold our tongues when we think they’re making missteps. You can trust our repairability scores and our commitment to holding manufacturers accountable for unrepairable designs. We have to stick together to fix every thing.
