Magic Bullet NutriBullet Blades Will Not Turn

Magic Bullet, the maker of the NutriBullet, recommends that users do not blend for longer than one minute at a time. Prolonged use of the blender can cause the motors to wear out quickly, which can cause the blades to stop spinning. Unplug the NutriBullet blender and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, plug the blender back in and try to use it, again, making sure not to leave the blender running for more than one minute at a time.

If the NutriBullet’s motor becomes overheated, it may stop working. If the blades do not turn and you notice a burning smell, unplug the power base from the wall socket and allow the base to cool for an hour. The powerbase should reset once the unit is unplugged, and resting the motor will prevent further overheating and damage. After an hour of rest, plug the NutriBullet back into the wall socket and try to use it again, being careful to not leave the blender running for more than one minute at a time.

If the Magic Bullet NutriBullet has been used for extended, non-pulsed use, two electrical components might have failed that can cause the blender to not spin. In both cases, there was probably a smell of hot metal or burning electrical components at the time of failure. One component is a heat sensor which fails permanently if the motor coils heat above 150 degrees Celsius (302 degrees Fahrenheit). The other component is a set of carbon brushes that conduct electricity to the commutator segment of the blender’s motor. The white activators located on the top of the NutriBullet’s power base are required for the machine to begin blending.
