Google Pixel 8 Repair

Announced on October 4th, 2023, the Pixel 8 continues Google's flagship smartphone with updates to its camera and processor. While the camera itself hasn't changed from the Pixel 7, the new Google AI integration allows for higher quality photos for smaller objects, a.k.a. "Macro Focus," and more options for in-app editing. The Google AI is possible via the new Google Tensor G3 processor, which has improved performance and efficiency compared to the Tensor G2.

The Google Pixel 8 starts at $699 USD.

The Pixel 8 can be identified primarily by its model number: GKWS6 or G9BQD, which can be accessed by looking at its original box or navigating to "Settings" >"About phone" and then scrolling down and tapping on "Model & Hardware."

If you lost the original box or can't access the Settings app on your device, you can also identify the Pixel 8 by its signature camera bar that protrudes as a wide strip along the top edge of the back cover. Compared to the Pixel 7 that had one oval-shaped camera cutout alongside a circular cutout, the Pixel 8's camera cutout is a single oval. The screen is also a little smaller at 6.2 inches compared to the Pixel 7's 6.3 inches.

The Pixel 8 comes in three colors: Hazel, Mint, Obsidian, and Rose.
