So I have a pink line across my phones screen it feels consistent with screen damage. If i apply pressure on the two opposite corners it goes awayusualy. But increasingly less sucsess. I just want to know how you would tell if this is just an issue where I need to replace the screen or if I will need a whole new motherboard.

Is the line vertical? Upload a picture and adding it to your answer will be the most helpful for our ability to diagnose this.
But if so, your issue is almost certainly the actual display. The way the subpixels (the red, blue, and green bits that make up a single pixel) are arranged such that the red and blue subpixels are in the same column. So if lines carrying green signals are damaged the screen will get these pinkish purple lines.
There is some more explanation on the iPhone Lines on Screen Troubleshooting page (I haven't gotten around to the Pixel one yet to add this info in). But I would presume the display panel is also made by Samsung in the Pixels, so an identical subpixel arrangement is likely.

It's a known manufacturing flaw with the screen that will progress into the whole screen turning green, I had mine replaced under warranty.

I've had the same pink line issue, and decided to just replace the screen as flexing the frame initially solved the problem, but eventually that didn't work anymore and the line started to widen and was displaying permantently.

I have these multiple pink-white lines that cannot be fixed with applying pressure to opposite sides, and a massive black hole looking thing that can't be fixed. What do I do?
