The Sony PRS-505 is an e-reader released in 2007 as an upgrade to the PRS-500. Key features include an E ink display with 8 levels of gray, a durable metal body, and support for various file formats like PDF and EPUB. It has 192 MB of internal storage.

As mentioned before, the Sony PRS-505 has a strong and solid build that is constructed with aluminum. Along with the screen, the page flipping buttons, zoom-in button, direct page jumping buttons labeled 1-0, menu and selection buttons are on the front of the device. It's also accompanied by a magnifying light that usually lies on top of the screen. The side, bottom, and sides are composed of the Volume buttons, headphones jack, charging port, and power button. It has two card slots (SD and Memory Stick Duo) for storage. In addition to the dedicated page-turn buttons on the right spine making it easier to use than the controls on the PRS-500.
