How to connect keyboard to logic board

I recently had to replace the dc board on my 1.5 GHz (model A1095) machine, and upon reassembly could not hook the keyboard cable to the logic board. I even went so far as to purchase a new keyboard thinking that perhaps I damaged the original one while taking the computer apart. I can not get either one to work, even when I try to hold it in place and boot the computer. It feels like it is not sliding all the way in, but I have never dealt with this before, so i do not know how far in the cable should go. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Charl

Did you push the locking tab back in when you put the cable in? I have removed and re-attached a keyboard for a 17" PBG4, but never the 15" aluminum.

To be honest, I did not even know there was a locking tab involved when I removed it. I pulled on the cable, rather firmly, and it came out. I just took a look at it, where would the tab or tabs be located. Perhaps they are still in the locked position

The socket has a tab that goes around the cable, here is the diagram on ifixit as to how these work: http://s1.guide-images.ifixit.com/igi/1M...
