Water damage - wont start

I have a macbook (Intel core 2 duo) that was recently submerged in water. It would start and immediately go into sleep mode after the white Apple screen. I could awaken it but the process would repeat in 5 seconds. Now, after maybe 10 days, the computer won't start at all, and the adapter no longer shines green or amber. The battery was shot from the get go and has deteriorated since then.

Given that, what do you think? if responding, keep in mind that I have never opened this thing up before.

Thanks in advance,

John

Check for corrosion on the logic board and remove it with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcool.

You will need to remove the motherboard/logic board to properly clean it. You will find a guide for doing that here. Here's a guide on cleaning your device after water damage: Electronics Water Damage

+ Good advice except you neglected to point them to a guide to remove the motherboard when they expressed they have never opened it up before or what they would be cleaning.

I will have to place an order for the proper screwdriver and spudger (necessary?). Looks pretty intensive just to get to the logic board, but the computer is 2 years old and out of warranty. How can you tell what in particular needs cleaned on the board? Thanks again.
