PowerBook fails to power on at all?

A friend is trying to power on a old PowerBook 1400cs/133, but to no avail. I'm having a bit of a tough time trying to diagnose what could be wrong with it, as I've never operated on one of these PowerBooks before.

RAM, HDD, and battery all seem okay.

Is there anywhere specific I should be looking at (DC-in, connector?) to perhaps further diagnose this issue?

Any corrosion or burns (short) evident on logic board? check cable/connector end to on button

My 1400 starts every time when I hit the small reset button on the back, the tiny button between the two inputs on the right.

Try using a multimeter to test the output of the AC adapter. Ty resetting the power manager again with the battery removed and power adapter disconnected. Press/hold the reset button between the ADB and serial ports for 30 seconds, then connect just the power adapter and start up. Do you get anything, noise, or lights?

I can't remember Richard--does this unit have a PRAM battery? +

Resetting the machine via the reset button isn't working. I suspect that the PRAM battery may be totally done for. I managed to order a new one, so when that comes, I'll have an excuse to crate a repair guide for this model for iFixit. :)
