How do I replace the trackpad?

I'd like to replace the trackpad on this PowerBook G4 but can't find the part to purchase. Any suggestions?

You need to replace the top case witch includes the keyboard and trackpad. Links provided--good luck. Ralph

+ agreed but theres just got to be a better way. I'm pretty sure the keyboard is replaceable on this model.

You would think so but I looked at the trackpad carefully on the blowup view and didn't see any way to dismount it.

I just replaced a keyboard on a MacB ook Pro, lots of screws but very do-able. I think the keyboards on the pre Unibodies are replaceable but not the trackpads.

You might be able to replace 'just' the trackpad, BUT it's held to the upper case by adhesive tape, and is itself rather flimsy. Much easier to replace the complete upper case in my view.
