The symptoms are high fan speeds

Hi there

I have these problems with my mbp 15" mid 2010. Last four digits of the serial number is xxxxxxxxx-RAGU. the logic board number is 820-2850-A.

The symptoms are very high fan speeds. Does not respond normally to power button. Only boots into emergency mode.

No lights under keyboard. date and time are not set properly. indicator light flashes every 2 seconds.

Tried resetting/flashing SMC through shell but didn't work.

Please let me know where the smc is I would love to replace it and get this computer working. Thanks for all your help.

To start with SMC is a chip on your logic board and it's a micro controller so you can't just change it to fix your problem without programing it.

For now lets properly diagnose your problem. Down load this app: Temperature Gauge Pro. Take a snapshot of the output and paste it here for us to see.

Find ASD 3S138, run it, and tell me where there is an error. I will tell you where to look from there, but not psychic, must know what has failed first.
