Removing leftover material on pulsating light

This is purely a cosmetic issue and does not affect anything performance wise on this laptop but it has always bugged me considering the cost of these laptops. The pulsating light on the front right of the laptop appears to have left over aluminum or some other material covering it. The light still shines through, but it is not the full oval shape one usually sees. I have attempted to use a razor blade on the front to see if any of this material would chip off, and have even opened up the casing and removed the hard drive assembly to get to the back of the light to try and chip away at that, but I have had no luck. Even using a Dremel on the back had no affect. Are there any other options to try and remove this material or should I just live with it?

Thank you for any help.
