No video after LCD replacement

A customer brought me her 2007 MacBook (white) with a broken screen. I bought a new LCD and proceeded to replace it. After the install, I powered up the unit and got a flicker of light on the left side of the screen and a fizzing noise. The video immediately faded to black. Now on start up, all I get is a black screen. To my knowledge, I do have external video. As well, I reset the PRAM and power management. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Took everything back apart and I do have a (very) faint image. I am guessing now it's the inverter board. I will try this next. Thanks for the suggestions!!!

It would help if you could tell us if you see a faint image of the desktop when passing a light source over the Apple on display back cover. We want to know if you get a video feed or not cause the problem could simply be the inverter cable or inverter board. If you replaced the whole display assy with a known working one then the issue could be logic board related since the cables could have shorted in the hinge and damaged the inverter circuitry on the logic board.

If you have external video

it's not the graphics chip - which leaves inverter, fuse and cables.
