Overheating plus fast battery drain = a short somewhere on the board. Take the board out of the phone and start it with just a battery and a power button flex. Try to pinpoint the exact component that is hot. Report back

Drop phone in water, the battery and mother board are two easily damaged parts.

You can try another battery at first to make sure if your battery still good.

If your battery is broken, it's easy to buy a new iPhone 4S battery and replace the broken one.

If the other battery also drains quickly, you need to take it to check the mother board.
