How to get USB 2.0 on this model?

Please inform whether it is possible to get USB 2.0 via extension card, and if so, where to get one.

There are people claiming that hard-wiring inside the machine effectively will prevent any buscard solution. Also, there seems to be restrictions on buscard types working on this model.

I'll be ever so grateful for tips, as info so far seems both contradictory and confusing.

I've never tried one of these, but you can get a Firewire to USB2 converter:

Yeah, you're logic board won't be able to handle USB 2.0, so it's a no go.

I'm pretty sure theres a PCMCIA port on your PowerBook. Try this:

I meant PowerBooks. I think none of the MacBooks have PCMCIA card ports

You should update your answer to say PowerBook instead of MacBook then... ;)
