Evercade EXP Buttons Not Registering
If the Evercade EXP buttons are not functioning properly, follow these steps. If problems persist or these steps don't help, follow the manual page.
Dirty and Sticky Buttons
- Power off the device and remove the cartridge.
- Dip a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol and apply it around the perimeter of the sticky button.
- Press the button down repeatedly to allow the alcohol to seep into the button and dissolve the dirt or debris.
- Use a toothpick dipped in alcohol to gently clean out dirt from the narrow spaces around the button.
- Allow the controller to air dry for 5-10 minutes. Next, clean off any excess debris or dirt is necessary.
- If the button is still sticky, repeat the process.
Low Battery/Power
Low battery or power may result in buttons not registering. Ensure that the device is partially or fully charged with the correct USB-C charger. If Evercade is not registering charging power, follow this troubleshooting guide for more information.
Factory reset the device
After cleaning the device, if buttons are still not registering, a factory reset of the device may be necessary. This will erase all saved data, but may fix your buttons that are not registering.
To factory reset:
- Remove cartridge if needed.
- Select settings
- Select system
- Select factory reset, press "Yes."
If the above options do not solve the problem, follow this guide to replace the faceplate buttons.
