HMD Barbie Phone Screen Not Turning On

HMD Barbie Phone Screen Not Turning On

If you press and/or hold the "on" button on your HMD Barbie Phone, but it does not result in the screen turning on, follow this page for possible solutions.

Causes

1

Hold down the "end call" button (the bottom left of the top portion of the keyboard) to power the phone off. Wait 30 seconds, then hold down the "end call" button for 3 seconds to power it on.

2

Remove the phone's back plate by applying force and sliding it down. Remove the battery. Ensure there is no swelling or physical damage to the battery. If swelling or physical damage is present, do not continue to use the battery. If no swelling or physical damage is present, put the battery back in, ensuring it is properly aligned. Put the back plate back on and attempt to power on the phone.

3

Use the power cord and charging brick that came with the phone to charge the phone. Let the device charge for 5-10 minutes, then attempt to power on.

4

Use a different USB-C cord with the same charging brick to charge the phone for 5-10 minutes, then attempt to power on. If this doesn't work, change out the charging brick for another 5-Watt charging brick. Allow the device to charge for 5-10 minutes, then attempt to power on.

5

If the phone screen does not turn on, but phone sounds are audible, the video ribbon may be damaged or disconnected. See this guide on locating and reconnecting or replacing the video ribbon.

6

If the phone still does not turn on after verifying that the video ribbon is intact and attached, the motherboard may need to be replaced. Follow this guide to replace the motherboard.
