The HMD Barbie Phone is a smart flip phone. The HMD Barbie phone was released in Europe in August 28 2024, and then later in the US in October 1 of that same year. While this device is available in Europe and the US, this guide will specifically detail the US version of the device. This phone works just like any other smart phone, being able to go on the web, play basic mobile games, make calls, and send texts. It has Barbie apps made in the Barbie style to match the phones aesthetic.
The phone is designed for dedicated Barbie fans. Additionally, this phone is marketed for people who want to disconnect from the usual smart phone social media experience, with the phone having limited social media access, and being limited hardware wise. The phone is a stripped down version of the Nokia 2780 flip, having a fraction of the camera quality, storage, and processing power.
The phone did not reach main stream success, even though the company believed the phone would perform very well due to the Barbie movies success.
The phone currently costs $99.99, and it comes with several unique accessories, such as changeable back plates, stickers, gems, Barbie charms, and beaded lanyards. The phone can be purchased in select retailers such as Amazon and Walmart.
Identification
Its has a pink outer body with a changeable backplate, the backplate comes in uniques styles. The phone has a large keypad, with a flamingos, hearts and palm trees on it for design, and a 2.8 inch screen on the front and back of the phone. It has a camera and flash near the hinge on the back of the phone. It has two speakers, one on the side phone and on the inside. The sides of the phone also include a volume button, charging port and headphone jack. The model number can be found behind the battery and can be seen once the battery has been removed.
