Blink Outdoor 4 Not Connecting
If your Blink Outdoor 4 is not connecting to the Blink Home Monitor app, follow these instructions to get it operating like normal. Released August 2023, model number BCM00500U
Live View Failures
- Ensure that your Sync Module is plugged into an outlet 250 feet away from the Blink device for the best viewing. If the Sync Module is more than 400 feet away from the device, viewing resolution decreases.
- Check if the Sync Module and camera are connected to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Ensure the camera shows 3 bars for both Wi-Fi and the Sync Module in the app.
- Ensure the batteries are properly placed and fully functioning. Follow the instructions under the “Battery Depletion” section below.
- Make sure the device is properly connected to the Blink Mobile App. Follow the instructions under the “Getting Started: Blink Mobile App” section.
- If the problem continues, reset the sync module by holding the ‘reset’ button until it flashes red. You may need to re-add the sync module to the mobile app.
Getting Started: Blink Mobile App
- Download the 'Blink Home Monitor' app on your device.
- Once open, you must create an account, and follow the steps in the app to verify your identity.
- On the top of the screen, press the + icon and select "Sync Module"
- Through the app, scan the QR code provided on the white sync module or enter the serial number manually.
- Once the Sync Module is connected, go back to the "Add Device" page by clicking the + icon.
- Now, press "Wireless Camera" and follow the instructions in the app.
- Locate and scan the QR code on the back of the Blink camera to link it to the app.
Weak Wifi Signal
- Ensure that iPhone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wifi network as the Sync Module (included in the Blink Outdoor 4 box.)
- Depending on what phone you own, you can check your network in the settings app.
- Ensure the Sync Module is near the camera for both of them to pair and connect properly.
- Verify the camera has at least three bars of signal.
Battery Depletion
- To remove the battery pack, flip the camera to the back. Insert the black circular key (included in the box) into the silver notch in the center.
- Twist the key to the left and remove the backing once it releases.
- Take the batteries out and place them back in ensuring that the batteries are properly facing their respective sides of the spring (positive and negative compartments).
Disconnected Sync Module
- Ensure that the white sync module provided in the box is plugged into a working outlet.
- If the sync module has a red or no light, ensure that the Sync Module is connected to WiFi.
- If the light remains red, adhere to the following instructions:
- Remove the battery pack by flipping the camera to the back. Insert the black circular key (included in the box) into the silver notch in the center.

- Press and hold the 'Reset' button behind the battery pack for 5-10 seconds.
- Once working properly, the light should turn blue/green.
