Lefant M210 Is Navigating Erratically

If your Lefant M210 is navigating erratically and/or missing cleaning areas, there may be an issue with its sensors or mapping system. Try these quick troubleshooting steps to fix the problem.

Causes

1

Dust or debris on the sensors (especially the cliff sensors) can confuse the vacuum, causing it to change direction unexpectedly or get stuck. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean all sensors on the Lefant M210, making sure to wipe the bottom and sides.

2

Clean any hair and debris from the tires to ensure they turn properly. If hair is too tangled, you may need to cut it out. For easier access to the entire wheel assembly, you may also want to follow the wheel replacement guide.

3

Random objects or clutter around the cleaning area can lead to erratic navigation. Make sure the area you intend to clean is clear of any small to medium-sized obstacles. This could include loose cables or household objects the robot might push or collide with.

4

Sometimes a firmware update will resolve navigation issues. If you haven't downloaded the app, use this link to add the app to your phone. Open the Lefant app and check if any updates are available. The updates may improve the obstacle detection algorithm, a re-calibration of sensors, and bug fixes in the Lefant M210’s software.

5

If you've tried everything, the sensors may have failed and you will need to replace them.
