The Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse may fail to connect to your computer via the 2.4 GHz USB dongle or Bluetooth, preventing it from being used. The mouse might appear powered on, but the cursor doesn’t move, or the computer does not detect the device. The following are possible fixes.

Causes

1

The battery may be drained, or the mouse might not be properly turned on.

  • Ensure the mouse power switch (usually located on the bottom) is set to ON.
  • Charge the mouse using the provided USB-C cable for at least 15 minutes before attempting to reconnect.
  • Try connecting the mouse while plugged in to verify it powers on.
2

Low battery levels can prevent the mouse from connecting wirelessly.

Charge the mouse fully using the provided USB-C cable, or replace the battery if applicable. Once fully charged, disconnect the cable and attempt to reconnect the mouse via Wi-Fi.

3

The USB receiver may have become unpaired or is plugged into a faulty or incompatible USB port.

Plug the USB receiver directly into a USB port on the computer (not a hub). Hold the pairing button on the mouse until the LED blinks, then open the Alienware Command Center to select “pair Device.” If pairing fails, try another USB port or cable.

4

Nearby electronic devices or metal surfaces can interfere with the mouse’s wireless signal.

Move the mouse and receiver closer together and keep them away from Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth speakers, or other wireless devices. Try using the mouse in a different USB port or location to minimize signal interference.

5

The mouse firmware may not be compatible with your current system settings or drivers.

  • Connect the mouse via USB-C cable.
  • Open Alienware Command Center and check for available firmware updates.
  • Follow on-screen prompts to complete the update, then switch back to Wi-Fi mode.
6

The main board may be damaged, which can prevent the Wi-Fi connection from working.

  • Test the mouse using a wired USB connection. If it works while wired but not wirelessly, the receiver or internal Wi-Fi module could be faulty.
  • Try using a different Alienware receiver if available.
  • If issues persist, you may need to replace the main board.
