iPhone 5 display separated from misplaced rear camera clip

My Problem

Three months after buying a used iPhone 5, I noticed the top right corner of the screen was loose and beginning to separate from the rest of the display! Forums suggested it may be a defective battery pushing the screen out. But after receiving a new display from iFixit and opening the phone up, I found that the rear camera had been the cause of the damage. Someone had replaced the battery (it was put in crooked), two screws were missing, and the worst of all, had forced the camera housing over a small clip rather than beside it. This caused the rear camera to protrude up into the display and eventually damaged it!

My Fix

I replaced the whole display, and of course installed the rear camera properly in it's place.

My Advice

Pay attention to the details!! Make sure your rear camera is installed properly or you will pay for it later!!
