My Problem

The battery's lifespan has severely degraded after 7 years. The indicator gets stuck on 1% for a long time.

My Fix

It went well with the exception of the removal of the 1.7 mm Phillips screw by the battery connector. The reason it took my battery replacement process 3 hours is that I stripped the aforementi . . .

My Problem

Factory battery would periodically shut off.

My Fix

Apple makes it as difficult as they can for the end user to change the battery. But the kit comes with everything you need. I figured there would be some type of paper instructions but there wasn't and what I ended up doing was watching ifixit's short vid . . .

My Problem

Battery wouldn't last all day.

My Problem

My phone wouldn't hold a charge. If it got cold it died.

My Fix

At 62 Y.O.A. I was leery of trying this. I made plenty of mistakes and it still worked out fine. Screws are small and hard to see and handle, but the tools helped. At one point I dropped a screw into the phone and got it out with the tweezers. . . .

My Problem

The battery was quite old and the price was right.

My Fix

Had an initial *very*scary moment when opening the phone. The amount of upward force required to open a crack between the display and the back was, well, also enough to have the display snap way too far open when all of the bottom clips released at o . . .

My Problem

The phone was a gift and, hearing that Apple was lowering their prices, I decided to get a new battery now since the phone is such an old model.

My Fix

OK-- here goes:

A) Tried multiple times to get an appt at the two closest Apple Stores without luck. So looked online and found iFixIt. Looked like revie . . .

My Problem

Battery on the 4s was the original from November 2011.

My Fix

Very smoothly. Only a couple of snags.... I managed to be careful and still drop the ground contact piece on the carpet, but thankfully found it pretty easily. The other thing was that the battery cable has a fold in it that needs to be pushed . . .
