Without a hitch—just have the right sized tools to remove screws from case and battery. If not you may run into a problem.

Proper tools take pictures before you disassemble. Keep parts organized while disassembled for easier reassembly. Take note of where longer screws g . . .

Batteries were broken due to age not loading cycles

My Fix

As the 2011 Macbook Airs are not filled with glue (as the newer models) it just took the 2 right screw drivers and 15 minutes per device (a 11 and a 13 inch MB Air).

The battery had swollen.

My Fix

Very simple repair, just make sure you have a container for the little screws (which are of different lengths).

My Advice

I suggest that as you take them out, you stick them to a piece of tape—that way they are easy to keep in order and not to lose.

Amazingly easy! I was hesitant about opening up a Macbook Air -- I always heard how the battery was not "user repairable." With iFixit's tools and instruction guide, the entire battery replacement took only 10 minutes.
