Mi 11 Battery Replacement

What you need

  1. Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Heat the rear glass: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.

    • A hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate may also be used, but be careful not to overheat the phone—the display and internal battery are both susceptible to heat damage.

  2. Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Insert an opening pick: step 2, image 1 of 3 Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Insert an opening pick: step 2, image 2 of 3 Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Insert an opening pick: step 2, image 3 of 3
    • Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.

    • If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick. Try lifting it with strong tape, or superglue the suction handle in place and allow it to cure so you can proceed.

    • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and the frame.

    • In case you have trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive. Follow the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

    • Insert an opening pick into the gap you created.

    • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.

    • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

  3. Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Slice the adhesive: step 3, image 1 of 2 Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Slice the adhesive: step 3, image 2 of 2
    • Insert a second opening pick at the bottom edge of your phone.

    • If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, it has most likely cooled down. Use your iOpener to reheat it.

    • Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner of your phone.

    • Slide the opening pick along the left edge of your Xiaomi Mi 11 to slice the adhesive.

    • Leave the opening pick in the top left corner to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

  5. Mi 11 Battery Replacement: step 5, image 1 of 2 Mi 11 Battery Replacement: step 5, image 2 of 2
    • Insert a fourth opening pick underneath the top left corner of your phone.

  7. Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Remove the rear glass: step 7, image 1 of 2 Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Remove the rear glass: step 7, image 2 of 2
    • Remove the rear glass.

    • Apply new adhesive where necessary after cleaning the relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%).

    • Secure the new rear glass with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape. After installing the rear glass, apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes to help the adhesive form a good bond—a stack of heavy books works well.

  8. Mi 11 Battery Replacement, Unfasten the metal bracket screws: step 8, image 1 of 1
    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the connector metal bracket and the camera cover:

    • Two 4.4 mm-long screws

    • One 4.9 mm-long screw

    • Two 3.9 mm-long screws

    • Although these adhesive tabs are supposed to make the battery removal easier, they may require some force. In case you're having trouble removing the battery, you can apply a heated iOpener to the center of the display to loosen the adhesive underneath.

    • Peel the battery off the remaining adhesive.

    • Remove the battery.

    • During reassembly, temporarily reconnect the battery to the motherboard to help align it correctly. Disconnect the battery after it is seated.

    • In case you're replacing the adhesive sticker with a new one, peel the battery's adhesive sticker off the midframe and clean the relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%). Let the alcohol dry before installing new adhesive.

Conclusion

If possible, turn on your device and test your repair before installing new adhesive and resealing.

For optimal performance, calibrate your newly installed battery after completing this guide.

Secure the new battery with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape. In order to position it correctly, apply the new adhesive into the device at the places where the old adhesive was located, not directly onto the battery. Press the new battery firmly into place.

Compare your new replacement part to the original part—you may need to transfer remaining components or remove adhesive backings from the new part before installing.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Apply new adhesive where necessary after cleaning the relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%).

Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.

Wozu ist denn das weiße Kabel am rechten Rand des Handys? Habe das versehentlich beim öffnen gekillt. Aber ich konnte noch nicht heraus finden was jetzt nicht mehr funktioniert. 😅
