Identification and Background
iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple Inc. and launched on October 23, 2001.
To date, the iPod is one of the most successful products ever made, only eclipsed now by Appleās own iPhone. Known for their innovative scroll wheel interface and the iconic white earbuds, the iPod was so ubiquitous that it practically became a replacement for the terms mp3 player and portable music player.
Of all iPod models, iPod original was first introduced, followed by iPod mini, iPod shuffle and iPod touch. The iPod mini product line was replaced by the iPod nano in 2005 and the iPod original by the iPod classic in 2007. As of 2019, all iPod product lines have been canceled except the iPod touch.
Some models generations of iPod have a tendency to look similar. If you're unsure which iPod you have, you can identify your iPod.
