Introduction
If your HMD Barbie Phone (model number TA-1420) is not holding a charge or is not turning on, you may need to replace the battery. The battery in this device is easily removed and replaced if necessary, but if you find swelling or other physical damage of the battery, take proper precautions.

Fully power off the phone.

Remove the backplate by gripping it around the edges and pulling away from the phone.
