The Asus ZenFone 5 is a mid-range, 6.2" Android smartphone, released in May 2018, that comes in Meteor Silver and Midnight Blue color options. It is 165 grams with Gorilla Glass that covers about 90% of the phone’s touch screen surface. The CPU is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform with 14 nm, 64-bit Octacore Processor. It is capable of 64 GB of internal storage and can support up to 2TB of external storage.
This phone is unique because of the two rear-facing cameras, as well as a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. The power and volume buttons are on the same side of the phone. The audio jack is on the top, while the USB-C connector is on the bottom.
The battery is a fast-charging 3300mAh. It takes approximately 38 minutes to charge 60% of the battery’s full capacity. On a full charge, the phone can handle up to 17 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing, 13 hours of video playback, 25 hours of talk time, or 22 days of standing by on 4G. The phone must be connected to a 5V, 2A, 10 W connector to be charged and requires a USB-C model charger.
The ZenFone has a rear fingerprint that takes approximately 0.3 seconds to unlock, and can have up to 5 different fingerprints on file at any given time. The phone uses AI technology to be unlocked via face recognition.
The ZenFone 5 has a total of three cameras. The one front-facing camera is 8 Mega Pixels that can focus on an item up to 24 mm away. The main rear-facing camera has a 12 Mega Pixel duel image sensor, that can also focus on an item up to 24 mm away with an LED flash. The main camera is good to use for Portraits, food, etc. The second rear-facing camera has a smaller focus length (12mm), but a wider angle camera, to take pictures of landscape and scenery. All the cameras are adapt to take 1080p and 720p HD videos.
The ZenFone 5 is programmed to connect to WLAN WiFi, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. The phone has GPS capabilities.
