How do I format the new hard drive, either fat32 or NTFS

Installation disc doesn't start after selecting option key and installation dick on start up?

Ok, I will try to select the installation disc again form the option choices but the disc keeps spinning and never starts the Install disc???

Here is a nifty little guide we have setup to help people setup new hard drives on their computers. Just follow the first few steps to format/erase your hard drive.

You didn't mention the GUID partition in the tutorial ???

If you are formatting a MacBook for a Mac OS you should use a Mac format such as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Follow the guide Matt indicated and you should have no problem. Ralph

What OS are you trying to install and did the disk come with the computer (grey disk) or a retail version(Black Disk)?
