What would cause my laptop to not take a charge?

My charger arched while I took it out and I lost the ability to charge or power from my charger. I replaced the MagSafe adapter and I charged the battery with a different computer to test the logic board. It will run off the battery so now I'm really not sure what I need to repair.

Get a new charger - from what I've heard if you make a fuss you may get one free at a Genius Bar (poor design points)

He did that. Just saw your new profile, we have diving in common. I loved the tunnel in Roatan and catching lobsters by hand, last went in '83
