I've got to ask some questions to be able to help. Do you get any lights at all? If so, do they flash? If they flash, how many times? Any sounds?

Thanks

Open the back by removing the three screws in the bottom of the frame. Plug it back in. See if any of the LED lights in the middle of the board are on. Just to your left of the lights should be two small gray button. Using a pencil eraser tip hit each one and set if the machine turns on. One is the reset & one the start up and let me know if you get any results.

There are three main failures with this machine. First was the power supply, look for burn spot. The second was bulging and corroded capacitors, look at the 25 cans. Third is a older separation on the GPU chip that gives video problems. If your capacitors show symptoms and your power supply is gone the it is not worth trying to fix this machine. Let me know and if needed I'll go into how to transfer your data to a new machine.

noticed heat under where power supply .

I inspected motherboard and no problems found.

also hard drive on this machine was wiped clean and tested fine, ram tested fine, dvd and fans tested good!

I have another power supply ordered so I think i will give it a try.

Please look at the bottom of your iMac stand and send the information. We may not have your correct machine listed.
