my combodrive will not accept any disks, just spits them back out. the cd/dvd's icon in system preferences disappeared. the drive is listed in the system profiler but the serial number disappeared. any ideas? i believe its a macbook core 2 duo from 2006. thanks!

Hi, This question has come up before so I will include a link to one of those post. You can try cleaning the heads but the drive may need to be replaced. Good luck.
