replace harddrive on 24inch Intel

I have a 24in iMac EMC No:2134. I'm not finding a guide that will let replace the hard-drive. Is there a guide of another iMac close enough to use as a guide.

You can't simply drop a new drive in the new iMacs, they're very picky. Do some reading first. Here's where to start: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/turnkey/i...

yes, but he doesn't have a mid 2011 or mid 2010 27 inch iMac. he has a 24 inch imac which does not have those restrictions on the mid 2010 or the mid 2011 iMacs.

pierrej - I own that machine and did my best to change the hard drive with out success

which machine, one of the 24 inch intel imac like the poster? i've replaced many of those with OEM drives without problems. the mid 2010 and the mid 2011 iMacs have the problem for exactly what you mention. I've even replaced a few for customers with SSD's with a 3.5 inch adapter plate without issues.

this guide should help you out. If you might not have the exact same model but the 24 inch models were pretty close to eachother. especially for this repair.

Just make sure to transfer the thermal sensor and reattach it similarly to what you already have on your current hard drive.

My iMac does not have the screws at the bottom. I have only one screw for the Ram panel and that's it. I cannot figure how to get the front panel off.
