How to diagnose the issue with an iPod Classic 80GB?

When turned on makes repeating noise and shows (www. apple.com/support/ipod) web address. Replaced the battery a while back.

It seems like the harddisk is damaged. Try restoring it if you can or you can try checking the harddrive sector here's the YouTube video try that if you have lot of pending sectors you have to replace the harddrive. You can look into iflash adapters https://youtu.be/ayVJRMcUE5M

Sounds like the hard drive is dead. You will need to replace it, either with another hard drive, or with a compact flash card or SD card using adaptors like these: https://www.iflash.xyz
