Sleep sensor problems / Battery connector, possible water spill?
Hi there ifixit-Team,
my macbook stopped functioning properly. Maybe there was a water spill - I'm not sure though, since the water spilled was pretty far away from the notebook and the notebook was turned off for a few days.
Similar to this problem: when I try to boot the computer, it automatically goes into hibernation mode after a few seconds. Each time I press the power button, it will continue the (existing) boot for 3 seconds, then the backlight will be turned off and it goes back to hibernation - I can continue doing this and even get to the desktop.
After a little bit of reading I have removed the Sleep sensor and the battery and the computer works again, but I noticed some strange marks at the contacts of the sleep sensor and a burnt smell. Since a notebook without a battery isn't very practical, this isn't a great solution ...
Here are some photos of the board with the removed battery conector / sleep sensor: #1, #2, #3 close up. To me it seems like one or two of the contacts have molten, since the copper goes over the engraved letters (BAT/S?P SW) ... or is this supposed to look this way?
Is there anything I can do? Should I try to scratch away the copper on the board so the contacts won't be connected to each other?
Thanks for your help!
Is this a good question?

Thanks for the advice and the examination of your board, mayer! Since I'm living in Germany, I won't be able to send it to DT&T. I'll try to clean the board from the metal and see what will happen.
