Cracked Case?

Near the thumb-scoop there appears to be a small crack running parallel to the case (follows the curve of the scoop) and is about the length of the trackpad button. It is only small but is there something I can do without replacing the entire case?

You have to show it to your local Apple Service Provider. I some cases Apple will repair the MacBook.

I see, so the top case actually has a crack in it. For a complete fix you will need to replace this. You can use this guide to carry it out.

I'd rather not pay $169 USD and just keep it as it is. It doesn't bother me so i will just leave it

I agree, maybe you could try shurai's suggestion?

If the crack is on the keyboard then they'll repair it at no cost. They said it is recognized as a design flaw. However if the crack is anywhere else then you'll have to pay for it

I have the same problem with my black macbook, I use black electrical tape to cover it, it's the perfect color, if you have a white macbook you could use white electrical tape.
