To get an Apple certified Battery you'll need to visit an Apple Store or authorized service center and you'll pay a premium. Apple does not sell batteries or parts directly

The IFIXIT battery is made by the same companies that Apple uses.

Chosen Solution

The battery is an aftermarket version, thus making it not OEM or “apple certified”.

iFixit charges a bit more for their products because all of their products are tested rigorously. If a potential product doesn’t meet iFixit’s high standards then iFixit will not sell the product. iFixit has a limited lifetime warranty on most of their non-consumable parts. iFixit provides a one year warranty for the MBA battery you are considering buying, meaning the battery is guaranteed to perform at peak performance for a year (with normal use and care).
