Iphone connectors can be finicky. Go slowly and try repositioning before pushing gently with your spudger.

If that doesn’t work, look at the connector pins inside the connector / on the other side of the connection. If any of them are laying down, you have bent them. You can use your spudger to bend them back, but the pins may be damaged beyond repair in some instances. I’ve done this with the digitizer assembly in an iPhone 5, and it’s really frustrating.

Good luck - be gentle. Positioning is important and it will click with gentle pressure if you’re positioned right.

When you get into trouble like that, the connector mating halves are usually damaged and need to be replaced. Grab a fresh charge port and overlay it without installing—make sure that it can click in nicely. Then go from there. It is really easy to get charge ports stuck down when you peel the adhesive in the wrong position, just like any sticker. If it is mal-positioned in the frame and you’ve been banging on it for awhile, just toss that one and try again with another. If you’ve damaged the logic board side connector then send it out for microsoldering.

And ditch the plastic board breakers—connectors are meant for fingernails!

Okay so I have jerry rigged my iphone to work by plugging my original charge port back into the motherboard, even though i didnt swap out the old - I have created a Franken phone…The issue I am having is two fold 1) when i lay the charge port on the back of the phone it is to high up the phone and i cant readjust it down - i had to have heated up my phone a dozen times to the release the adhesive and nothing worked. Secondly the speaker cable wont connect to the logicboard and im pretty sure its broken. Im gettin an iphone 8 but want to still fix this phone. The problem i was having originally was that my phone couldnt make calls without my bluetooth and i read that it may be cause by the charge port. And Howard, i dont think the port on the logic board is broken because im charging my phone now, I think i may have bent the new charge port pug or need to somehow shift it lower.
