Certain Keys not Working on Keyboard

Hey everyone, I have a Macbook v. 3,1, and I'm experiencing a strange error. The 1,Q,A,Z, delete, and spacebar keys on my keyboard all stopped working simultaneously, and randomly, a number will get "stuck" without me pressing it, filling whatever text box is active with a stream of 9's or 6's.

If you have any idea what's going on, please help. Thanks so much in advance.

Did you find an answer or a solution? My wife's late-2008 white macbook has exactly the same problem (I believe even the same keys are not working).

First thought--has anything been spilled on the keyboard? Second thought--I notice the dead keys are in one row so you could have a problem with the keyboard cable. You would need to open the unit a check the cable for damage and proper insertion into its logic board connector. No go on the first two you probably need a new keyboard. Hope this helps. Ralph

+ Also try reseating the keyboard to logic board cable and inspect the slot for debris.

Nothing spilled on it. It just randomly failed this morning. I'll try opening the case to see what's going on. Thanks very much Ralph.

== Check under the keys == for damaged, or malformed scissors or crumbs.

Good Luck,

i-am-taking-it-to-get-serviced-i-hope-i-dont-need-a-new-keyboard-i-am-running-osxserria--or-whatever-they-call-it. I started using an external keyboard and it is working wonderfully... I am sure it is the connector cable because the power button doesn't work either I have a mid 2010, unibody macbook... I am having trouble actually finding guides on this site for it :/ despite the relative ease it seems to access the internals :>
