How to wipe water damaged MacBook Air to sell for parts?
Hi,
I spilt half a cup of tea over my MBA keyboard, turned it off and let it dry out for about a week. It would still turn on but the keyboard didn't work, then eventually it wouldn't turn on at all & the power cord wouldn't charge it either. Took it to an authorised repair shop who told me almost everything except the SSD was fried and that total repair cost would be about $1400 AUD, and my best bet would probably to get a new one rather than pay for it to be repaired, so I ended up I buying a refurbed MBA for about $350 cheaper. The repairer got all of my files and documents onto a portable hard drive but I didn't think to ask about getting them to wipe everything off it. Is there a way to do this when it won't turn on at all, so that I can sell it for parts/to whoever would possibly buy it? It's still connected to my iCloud account but would that clear all my documents etc off it?
Thanks
Is this a good question?
