Upgrading RAM, what's compatible?
I thought I'd researched this enough, but I guess not. I'm trying to bring my old laptop up to speed. Currently had 2x 256Mb PC2700 DDR333MHz 200-pin SO-DIMM chips.
I'm trying to add 2Gb. Found a chip that's 1Gb PC3200 DDR400MHz 200-pin SO-DIMM.
I know there was one bit that was ok to go higher on without causing problems, thinking it was the PC3200 and not the 400MHz.
Can someone tell me which parts I have to match exactly and then which would be ok to stray from so that it would be compatible with this??
I know 2GB (2x1GB) is the Maximum RAM I can have, but is there a Max PC or MHz??
Please Help! And Thanks.
Is this a good question?

We have to know EXACTLY which machine you have, some of the G4 PowerBooks used DDR and some DDR2. Please give the last three letters of your serial number. Thanks

DDR, it had DDR in it, and as far as I know, you can't put a DDR2 into a slot that originally had DDR.

Look in the battery compartment for your serial number please
