Why does my screen get blurred after sleepmode?

My G4 works fine, untill it goes into sleep mode. When it wakes up the screen gets blurred.

A reboot fixes the problem untill...sleep mode.

The problem persists with an external monitor as well so the connector in the hinge will not be broken.

Maybe useful info: this computer has not been used for a couple of years, untill now.

Any suggestions?
