A lot of fan noise and will not shut down.

The fan starts to run after a short period and keeps running. When I try to shut down the computer goes to a blue screen and stay there. It requires a HARD shut down to shut down

Options

The problem is overheating. Remove the top case and use some canned air to blow out the fans and vents. Your shutdown problem will probably go away. This failing then replace the thermal paste. MacBook Core Duo Upper Case Replacement
