It will get pass formating the hard drive but once I start the install there's a message comes up and says " Install Failed, The installer could not validate the contents of the 'BaseSystem' package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. So what do I do also the OS X 10.5 was a copy not the original disc?

It sounds like you got a copy of a 10.5 update disk instead of the full install disk. Try installing 10.4 first.

I have that problem, managed to get it to load by removing additional ram. Runs unstabley with ram replaced,
still fiddeling about trying to solve
